What Douglas May sees in nature and technology influences his work profoundly. Inspired not only by the visual world around him, he is equally awed by the wide variety of materials available - gold, platinum and countless gemstones. Using the traditional techniques of casting and fabrication, May creates designs based on individual gemstones. Many of his pieces utilize kinetic or riveted structures. All reveal May's high level of skill and creative use of construction.
